Dogging in the Time of Corona

Coronavirus. Coronavirus. Coronavirus.

That’s all we hear anymore. On our TVs. Online. When talking to our friends. No wonder we are all going a bit crazy.

We thought that we could share some tips and what we are doing to stay calm over here at VonRuff HQ. Tag us on Instagram #VonRuffLife to let us know what you’re doing to keep a smile on your face!

Go for daily long walks at the appropriate social distance. Nothing feels better than getting outside for much needed fresh air and Vitamin D. We can’t help but smile while looking at all of the trees starting to bud and feeling that sun on our faces and seeing others doing the same as we are.
Smile and say hi to strangers, just keep your distance. There is nothing quite like a smile to brighten someone’s day.
Check in on loved ones and neighbors. We have been checking on folks to see if they have any needs that we might be able to help with.
Play more inside. Talk about a major uptick in play sessions! If you need more ideas on what to do with your pets, check out these recommendations from the AKC.
Practice training. We are attempting to reinforce old skills and working on some new commands. Sit. Down. Stay. Leave it. Back massage. Cook me dinner. We love Zak George and his training videos.
Virtual play dates. These are a bit more challenging, but they sure do put a smile on our faces.
More belly rubs. Nothing reduces stress more than petting and showing love to our furry best friends.
Show gratitude. Instead of dwelling on everything that is so dire right now, we are focusing on all of the things that we are thankful for. Our family and friends. Our medical community. Sunrises. Our letter carriers. Spring flowers. Our grocery store employees. Our scientists. Each other. Waking up each day knowing that every day is a gift.

We take comfort in knowing that we are not alone…we feel you even though we can’t touch you.
